Oh Beltway, how I love thee. Let me count the ways; 95, 270, 495. Yesterday, I started my new jobby job. And I forgot for a moment just where I live. I figured that if I woke up nice and early, say 6:30am, that I'd miss the trafic. Oh no, not on the dreaded Beltway. Backups for miles and miles. It's like the lines at an amusement park, only without the fun clowns. But I managed to make it to my folk's house so I could ride into work with my dad. The NIH campus is cracking down on security in light of recent events and I have yet to get my parking tags and ID badge. Love that paper work.
Work was interesting. The hardest part was keeping awake. I did indeed go to bed early the night before to try to get myself on a regular schedule. But the human body works on 48 hours, not just 24. So really, a single night of good sleep won't do you much good. I found this out as I sat there with my supervisor trying to impress him by staying awake. I must have looked like a complete ass. Today was mostly finding out more info about what exactly I'm going to be doing.
It's waaay too early in the morning for me to be still awake right now and since I have to get up in five hours I'm going to keep it short. But I do want to say that I love Alpha Phi Omega, Epsilon Mu chapter. That's part of the reason I'm up so late. But that's another story for another time.
Time to try to get back to a regular schedule. Night all, and thanks for watching.
