Enter Mat's search for Loki. We'll see how well it goes. By now, it should be quite obvious that everytime I draw Mat, his cables and mechanical mess look slightly different. You may think this is due to a lack of skill on my part (which would not be too far off the mark), but in actuallity, I'm trying to show that his mechanical organical parts are in constant flux. He is also able to manipulate them to form just about any configuration he may require, in this case, a holo tracking device similar to the one used in the Final Fantasy movie.

You might also be able to tell what anime this first story line is parodying. If you can't, next Sunday's episode should make it painfully obvious.

In other site news, according to my site stats, I'm well over 100,000 hits now (something like 130,000 last time I checked). I am so very thankful and somewhat surprised. I want to show my appreciation in some fashion. I suppose updating every single day would be a nice gift to everyone, but now that I'm starting a new job, that might prove difficult to impossible. I do, however, wish to add another update during the week to keep people's interest. So tomorrow, I will attempt to debut another strip entitled Screen Snob. Check back on Monday to see if I actually do it. I'll tell you more about it if it gets posted. With a third strip, this means I will be moving to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule. Oh, and I now plan to do all strips in color so watch for the first colored Yellow Peril strip this Wednesday.

*crosses fingers*

A three time a week update schedule may seem like piddly poo to some of you out there. After all, your newspaper carries daily comics updated five and sometimes seven times a week. I have the utmost respect for the syndicated guys and gals. Their dedication is truly inspiring. They must really love what they do to chain themselves to such a demanding schedule. They must complete comics months in advance to keep ahead of schedule. This way, if an editor has a problem with a strip, they have enough done in advance so that they can afford to make changes. The comic book industry is supposed to work in this manner as well (though there are a good number of independent comic book publishers are notoriously late).

I don't do that. For the Titanium Moose series, I really should try to keep ahead of the game. Then I can do other things. But I enjoy the challenge of drawing and coloring a page in a space of a few hours. The two tone shading of the anime style makes this a lot easier since I don't have to worry about fully rendering the piece. But even if I do decide to render the whole page, I've gotten pretty comfortable with my style that I can knock out a finished piece in a day, two at max. I draw Yellow Peril the night before it goes live. I think about what I want to do with the strip for a week before I put pencil to paper. I also have the freedom to touch on current events such as last weeks Yellow Peril.

With the adition of a third strip, I'm going to try something new. I am most comfortable doing my line art on paper and then scanning it in to color it. With Screen Snob, I'm going to do things 100% digital. This might not sound like a big deal. And once I get the hang of it, it might make things a bit easier. The problem I have with completely digital comics is that the line quality is too perfect. For strips where the content takes precedent over the art, that's fine. But for comics that want to tell a visual story, nothing beats the lines of a real life pen or pencil. Something about a well inked line just speaks volumes in a piece. It's like seeing the paint brush strokes in a master painting.

We'll see what happens. It may prove too much for me. It may inspire me to do even more art. Either way, it should be a bit interesting.

Thanks for watching and thanks for all the support. And please be safe.

Got questions about this strip? Post them on our BBS.

Titanium Moose
The title of this site and the main feature comic. This started out as sort of an anime parody strip. Now it's started into a weekly story line. I know it can be kinda tedious to see a page a week at a time so I'm collecting the pages here so you can click through them all at once if you wish.

What 'cha gonna do about it
